‘Beauty and the Beast’ season 3 spoilers: ‘Degrassi’ alum checks in for premiere role

The latest -With production on “Beauty and the Beast” season 3 finally underway, we’re thrilled to finally be able to discuss casting and other cool things right now … beginning of course with this story.

Sources confirm that former “Degrassi” star Charlotte Arnold, who appeared in more than 100 episodes of the series, will guest-star in the third-season premiere of the CW series (which happens to film mostly in Toronto). Specifically (per TVLine), she is going to play the part of Marissa on the series. She is a woman from the midwest who finds herself in a dark, emotional place when her husband of many years starts to display some strange behavior. Could this be beast-like behavior? We’ll have to wait to find out.

The series is going in a new direction of sorts for the third season, and one that could feel a little more procedural depending on how it is handled. Cat and Vincent are now together, and are trying to take everything that they learned about each other and about the world of the supernatural to fight crime, and stop some other creatures and things that go bump in the night with the help of the government. Think of them as a less on-the-road version of the Winchesters from “Supernatural,” and with one of them consistently in possession of a form of superpower.

Sadly, there is no further insight in this news as to when season 3 of the series will premiere. If we were to just put it out there, though, we would not mind waiting again until the summer. That is where the ratings were a little better, and the show could have a longer life without so much of the competition.
