‘Arrow’ season 3 spoilers: The dynamic between Oliver Queen, Ray Palmer

More scoop -Every season of “Arrow” tends to pride itself on introducing some new faces into the fold, and we have a pretty big one coming up this year in Ray Palmer. Brandon Routh plays the entrepreneur who is looking to purchase Queen Consolidated, and also happens to be the alter ego of a hero who will one day be called The Atom. (That hasn’t happened when we first meet the character.)

Is this man an adversary? Not in a traditional sense, but it does sound like there will still be some tension between the two characters. We know already that Palmer could be a Felicity Smoak love interest, and executive producer Marc Guggenheim tells TVLine that there is a particular dynamic that the two have that sets them apart:

“He’s not like Sebastian Blood, looking at Oliver with disdain. Oliver quite frankly just doesn’t play this this guy’s level.”

We know already that Palmer is not a man Oliver is going to be able to just ignore, either. The character will be around for a lengthy period of time this season, and that could cause him to become an integral part of Oliver’s life … regardless of whether or not he really wants it to happen.

There are also going to be many other new characters into the world of the series moving forward, as well. Ted “Wildcat” Grant will be helping Laurel Lance train to potentially become the new Black Canary, while Ra’s al Ghul is set to be the Big Bad for the later part of the season (though the character has not been cast just yet).
