‘Doctor Who’ season 8, episode 3 video: See Jenna Coleman, Peter Capaldi in ‘Robot of Sherwood’ video

Sometimes, all a “Doctor Who” episode needs to do to have us excited is show us some cool graphics and costumes, and the teaser below for Saturday’s “Robot of Sherwood” has already pulled that off.

We are heading back in time yet again this week, though on this occasion to the days of Robin Hood. That’s a whole lot further back than what we just had with “Deep Breath,” which was only back to the Victorian era. We do find it somewhat-funny that Clara (Jenna Coleman) always seems to get into the fashion of the era much more than The Doctor does, but that is a part of this series’ fun.

Sometimes, we tend to want to extract some deep, emotional meaning from episodes of this show, and we want to take a few elements from it and apply them to our own lives. With this episode, though, we’re just hoping for fun. You’ve got a great writer in Mark Gatiss behind it, and this is also one of our favorite eras to explore on scripted TV. There’s always something so fun and mysterious about feudal times; maybe it is because it is the farthest one can really go back in recorded history without making it feel like a completely different universe at the same time.

Hopefully, the BBC will be so kind as to release some further previews and sneak peeks from this episode, and with that in mind, stay tuned for so much more!
