‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 11: Ellen Pompeo developing another project
Are we going to see Ellen Pompeo somehow become even busier? “Grey’s Anatomy” is clearly not enough for this woman anymore, and we’ve got some further details ahead about what she is up to.
If you missed it recently, there were reports out there that the actress is developing a new series for ABC Family about the debt crisis of a few years back. Meanwhile, it looks now that this is not even going to be enough for her just yet. According to a new report from Deadline, Pompeo is working under her Calamity Jane banner to executive-produce a cop drama around a Boston police officer who was wounded, and sidelined for many years and also in therapy. She is now returning six years later as an outsider to the force, but could still be valuable in solving cases. This is a theme that you should probably be very familiar with right now when it comes to police shows.
As for whether or not Pompeo can continue to balance everything in her career, we really wouldn’t worry about it. Writer Andy Stern would handle the bulk of the duties when it comes to the show if it does make it to production. We do find it interesting and very good for Ellen’s future that she is getting so much into producing right now, given that whenever she does decide that she is ready to depart “Grey’s Anatomy,” there will still be many opportunities for her out there. (Remember, though, that she is at least under contract for this season and the next one.)
