‘Pretty Little Liars’ season 5 spoilers: The impact of the Melissa Hastings reveal

At the end of Tuesday night’s “Pretty Little Liars,” you saw a brief glimpse of something that you have been most-likely wanting to see for some time: Melissa Hastings coming clean about some of the super-shady things that she has been up to. It’s finally time for her secrets to come out, but you still have to wonder just what sort of secrets these are.

For example, is this going to be something that incriminates anyone in what happened with Ali? Joseph Dougherty, who executive producers the show and who wrote next week’s episode, explains to Entertainment Weekly that you are going to see a reveal coming that shakes up the fabric of the show and what we know about the characters:

“This is going to permanently and definitively answer a question about what happened the night Ali disappeared, the first night that started everything.”

This is great news, but it does not really pinpoint who is “A.” You can expect some more flashbacks in this episode, and also set up for something that the network is already teasing to be a #FatalFinale this summer. Could we really lose someone else? We’ll say that if nobody dies after this extensive promotion, it will probably be one of the lamest things that the network has ever done to promote a show. Why even set us down that road if you don’t intend on following it up?

Interestingly, the person we are the most worried about right now is Melissa, especially if she starts to go down this road of dishing secrets…
