‘Sons of Anarchy’ season 7 spoilers: All about Charlie Hunnam’s Jax … and revenge
“Sons of Anarchy” has made it no secret over the years that at times, they will make zero sacrifices for the sake of the story. That means having violent scenes at times, extending episodes, or allowing Jax Teller to be however distraught or damaged he needs to be.
For the final season, much of the M.O. for Jax is going to be revenge, and the challenge for the show will be creating tension, and trying to not let any character get in the way of what Charlie Hunnam’s character is trying to do now in the wake of his own sacrifice and Tara’s death. Speaking to E! News, creator Kurt Sutter teased recently that the story almost has a throwback effect to it:
“What I love about this season is that it sort of goes back in an interesting way to season one in that there’s a deep bond and even though Jax is on this bloody path, there is no voice of dissension … They may be worried, they may have doubts, but everyone is containing them because they don’t want to undermine what it is he knows he has to do.”
Jax will start off his plans in prison during the premiere, and some of his actions here are violent enough to make you a little queasy. Should you still be surprised by them? Hardly. We feel that some of Jax’s physical actions are manifestations of his pain, which is why we are looking at a season right now that has the potential to be the craziest and most-violent to date. There’s a lot of pain in there that is just waiting to come out.
