ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 7 spoilers: How Stana Katic, Nathan Fillion, and new ‘mythology’ will play out
At this point if you are a devoted “Castle” fan, then you have probably heard the quote “new mythology” quite a bit already this summer. This is being described as the purpose of having Rick involved in that cliffhanger, and that is something that the show is going to pick up and address almost right away when season 7 starts.
But will it be business as usual by the time the first two episodes of the season are over? We don’t know if we can say that completely, even if it is very well possible that Nathan Fillion’s character will be back with the precinct helping to solve murders.
Speaking to Give Me My Remote, new showrunner David Amann suggests that while there will be some answers to this “mythology” revealed early, this is going to be a slow burn in the same vein as Bracken or 3XK have been:
“When we get through episode two, we will resolve some questions of what happened to him, but not all of them. [The open questions] will be hanging out there in ways that can’t be pursued any further [for the meantime]. But our plan is that we will reopen it later on.”
Just in case you were wondering how Beckett will be handling the present situation with Rick, Amann also makes the story clear for Stana Katic’s character. As you would expect, it’s all going to be about the rescue mission:
“She’s committed to getting to the bottom of what happened with Castle. That’s really her focus and her mission. She’s going to do that, and she’s going to take that as far as she can go to get answers. That’s what she’s focused on.”
Finally, you can expect some great cases coming up later this season, including one where they believe that the killer is invisible at first. You know that this is going to be fun.
