‘Glee’ season 6: Which star has just joined ‘Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon’ sequel?
There are few films over the past several decades, at least in its genre, that have had more of a cultural impact than “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.” Could a sequel to that actually be successful? We’re going to be finding out.
There is a sequel to this project being filmed this year in both New Zealand and China, and it is being directed by Woo-ping Yuen. This film also has the backing of a major studio in the Weinstein Company, so this is not some tiny production being put out there that will eventually be ignored.
In case you are wondering (outside of the title of the article and all) what all of this has to do with TV, it ties back to some pretty significant casting news for “Glee” star Harry Shum Jr.: He’s coming on board! Shum will join such cast members as Michelle Yeoh and Donnie Yen in the film, and will play the role of Tie-Fang.
When it comes to “Glee,” the obvious question that will have to be asked here is whether or not this appearance will cause there to be any conflict at all when it comes to the show’s sixth season. The filming locations are obviously not close to each other, but we know that Harry, along with every other cast member, has been asked back for the final season. However, since he is no longer a series regular, he is not contractually obligated to appear. We’ll just have to see if the timing lines up for him to make at least one more appearance as Mike Chang.

Good for Harry – forget about Glee.
