‘The Walking Dead’ season 5 trailer: Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reedus, and a new road trip
For all of those theorizing (us included) that the fourth season of “The Walking Dead” was going to be set mostly at Terminus, you may now have another thing coming. AMC has just unveiled the first official trailer for the fifth season at Comic-Con, and it gives you a sense of the world almost better than anything we’ve seen since the show’s very first season.
Somehow, it seems as though the hype surrounding Eugene and the trip to Washington is enough to have Andrew Lincoln’s Rick and the others able to convince Gareth (Andrew J. West) and company that they have a larger purpose. They can end this epidemic, and therefore get everything back to the way that it once was. As terrible as the people in this “safe haven” are, shouldn’t there at least be a few of them with dignity? We like to think so.
The challenge for the fifth season is mostly one about stakes. Mostly, how in the world do you manage to keep the quality so high with so much going on? The show is probably doing something more ambitious at this point than they ever have before. They have a number of characters all traveling together, and they also have a specific goal in mind other than just survival. Here is the scary part of all this: They are putting every bit of their faith into a man they only met recently who claims that he knows how to stop the zombie horde. There’s no proof of this. What happens if Eugene is a fraud?
For now, we supose that we should just keep things simple and ask this: What is your take on the trailer? Share below, and click here if you missed some other news from the panel. You can also crawl over here to get some further news and updates via our CarterMatt Newsletter.
