‘The Walking Dead’ season 5 premiere date, Father Gabriel confirmation
Comic-Con is a bearer of many TV stories, especially when it comes to “The Walking Dead.” In between the show and the comics, it is probably one of the most-discussed products of the entire convention.
The first bit of news that we have for you from Comic-Con is something that you most likely saw coming a mile away: The premiere date. The show will return to AMC on Sunday, October 12 at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time … though you may have already assumed that. In some ways, the scoop today was stuffed full of assumed information. It was also easy to guess that we were going to see Seth Gilliam playing the part of Father Gabriel on the show. Everything lined up for the role, and there was enough of a rumor swirling online about it for it to seem pretty legitimate.
Now, we just have to wait and see if the show can actually maintain and deliver the same high-quality programming that it did during season 4, which was arguably the best for the show yet. You’ve introduced more characters into the proceedings now, and thanks to this you have a mixture of benefits and problems. You have to find a way to focus on everyone, and that is not easy with only 16 episodes. Also, telling individual stories will be so much harder thanks to the fact that so many are all bunched together at Terminus, with there being no real timetable for if or when they will return. Carol and Tyreese are still out there, and it feels like they are the only hope the others have. Nobody knows and can rely on Beth at the moment.
