‘Supernatural’ season 10 spoilers: Actress Ruth Connell cast as…

What's coming up? -Supernatural” has seemingly cast one of its first major recurring roles for season 10, but this is unfortunately one that will be shrouded in some mystery … at least for a little while. Nonetheless, and to use a pretty obvious pun, it should still be a spell-binding role.

According to TVLine, Ruth Connell has signed on to appear in multiple episodes as a witch named Rowena. she is a mysterious, dedicated woman, and she has some very particular motives in mind when you first see her on the show. Connell is largely unknown to American / Canadian audiences, but she has done multiple films and TV movies back in the United Kingdom. (She originally hails from Scotland.)

Is this a potential Big Bad role? We wouldn’t go that far just yet. This is not a show that frequently feels a whole lot of pressure to cast the prototypical Big Bad character, so we cannot see them doing that here unless there was a lot of confidence in the role already. Also, there are some other major issues that the show has to tackle in the early going, including the arrival of Demon Dean and what will come next for him and Crowley. He already know that this side of Jensen Ackles’ character will be completely unhinged, and it will take work on both his and Sam’s part to get him back.

If we were Connell, we’d be worried about our job security here, mostly due to the general track record for most recurring players. Just as Bobby, Kevin, Abaddon, or many others. Occasionally, you do have a Jody Mills or a Charlie who sticks around, but these are rare.

What do you think of the character, at least based on the information we know? You can share all you think about it right now in the comments, and head over here to get some further TV updates via our CarterMatt Newsletter.
