‘Game of Thrones’ season 5 spoilers: Finn Jones and the future of Loras Tyrell
The brilliant thing about “Game of Thrones” is that with such a rich cast, you never know going into a season who is going to be an important character, and who is going to remain relatively quiet.
For example, season 4 was a pretty silent one for most of the Tyrell family. After the death of Joffrey, the only real move of significance that we saw was Margaery getting closer to Tommen in a political move to keep her power moving forward. For Loras, the biggest announcement was that Cersei Lannister has still figured out a way to avoid marrying him, and now that Tywin is dead, she is probably in the clear. (For Loras, we’re sure that he would prefer this, as well.)
Even the actor behind the Loras role is still not entirely clear where his story is going to go from here. Speaking per Flicks and the City, Finn Jones claims that he has not had an opportunity yet to see where the story takes Loras in season 5; however, he does claim that he has word he will be doing at least one more racy scene in the near future.
The interesting thing about doing “Game of Thrones” right now is probably that even though you may think you know how your story is going to end, that is no guarantee things will go in that direction. The show has started to change things around from what happens in the books; there are TV characters that are still alive in the books, and book characters who may not appear on the show at all. Also, there are still those two books (at least) where nobody knows how the story is going to end.
