‘Arrow’ season 3 spoilers: The questions ahead for Oliver, Felicity
It’s not often that we get a ton of “Arrow” scoop related to Oliver and Felicity over the course of a summer, so to have two stories in two days seems a little bit like a miracle.
Yesterday, we pointed out how in the official synopsis The CW released for the new season, there may be a time when Oliver actually starts to think that things are stabilizing in Starling City, and therefore decides that it would be a good idea to ask out Felicity on a date. That all seemed to be sweet and innocent, but there could be something more to it than that. After all, just take a look at what executive producer Greg Berlanti had to say in an interview with TVLine:
“They’re real characters to us, and they had that conversation on the beach, and they had that conversation in the house to help capture Slade … So the question you have to ask is: Does Oliver have real, genuine emotions for her? And how aware is he of that? And how aware does he make her of that? That is an active part of the season this year.”
Would we be happy if these two were able to finally get together? Definitely, but we also feel pretty certain that there are two other things that we do not want to see on the show in any shape or form:
- This romance becoming melodramatic and taking over the show; we’d rather have more waiting than something that becomes all-consuming.
- This date being another trick like what we had in the finale with the “I love you” confession.
We’ll just have to see where this goes, but in between this and the introduction of another major villain into the world, the potential for season 3 to be amazing is high. We’ll just have to see if it delivers.
