‘The Bachelorette’ podcast: Overnight dates, edits, and ‘Bachelor’ talk with Jessa
It’s been a little while since we’ve podcasted “The Bachelorette,” but now that we’re settled into our news locale and have a ton to talk about related to the show, there is an eventful chat that waits you below!
In this edition, CarterMatt Co-Founders Matt Carter and Jessa go through what was at times a boring episode, but also at times a pretty insightful one from a production perspective. How much you enjoyed it probably depends largely on how many questions you are willing to ignore about the process, and how Andi Dorfman can laugh while someone tells her that they love her.
Here are some of the overall topics that we go through in this episode:
- Whether or not Nick Viall is really that bad a guy at all.
- The gratuitous shots of people taking off their clothes while on the beach.
- What Nick’s children’s book may say about the time he and Andi spent in the “fantasy suite.” (We’re putting it in quotes because ABC does the same thing.)
- The endgame for this season, and how Josh Murray feels like the frontrunner.
- Whether or not it was awkward to see Chris Soules have to comfort Andi, even though she was the one sending him home and not the other way around.
- How Chris is probably the frontrunner to be the next “Bachelor” … even though we have someone else at the top of our list.
- “Bachelor in Paradise,” which gives us a few more minutes to talk about the aforementioned “someone else.”

I completely agree Rachel. I don’t feel Andi was honest with Chris about not wanting to live on a farm. It was easy to see that she wasn’t going to do that, it’s a huge change.
Chris could’ve left with just as much integrity even if he didn’t console her. I mean she just ripped out his heart and he has to console her? no no no. I would’ve chosen nick over josh too. that is if marquel wasn’t an option hahaha.

Great podcast guys. Of course Andi sent Chris home because she wasn’t going to live in Iowa for the rest of her life. I don’t think sbe was honest with Chris about this. I was bogus that Chris consoled Andi. If I was Chris I would have not been mean before I left, but I would not have tried to make Andi feel better. Chris will be the next Bachelor for sure. Josh is the one Andi picks. But, he is too one note for me. Sports, sports, and more sports. Hometown date, baseball, fantasy date, baseball, boring. I would choose Nick. He isn’t a bad guy.
