‘Hawaii Five-0’ season 5 spoilers: Prepare for a new female character

Are you starting to think that “Hawaii Five-0” is getting a little too concentrated with men? With Catherine gone, we understand why you would feel that way. It leaves Kono as one of the only standout women left in the office’s day-to-day operations, but the news that we have for you now is simple: It’s not going to be that way very long.

Speaking to TV Guide, executive producer Peter Lenkov promises that there is going to be another female character going into the medical examiner’s office, and even though she may be new to the business, that is not going to make her quiet by any means:

Max is going to be training a young female medical examiner … It’ll be somebody who will be there at crime scenes and be a voice in the ME’s office.”

“Hawaii Five-0” is a show that at this point has to be feeling pretty used to change, given that we have seen so many recurring players come and go, and also regulars added and taken away from the table occasionally. The news that we are still the most excited about is the arrival of Jorge Garcia as series regular, mostly because of the fact that we love “Lost” and we know that he absolutely loved his time in Hawaii filming that show years ago.

The show will return to CBS this fall once again in its Friday-night timeslot, which it managed to do a very rare thing in actually putting up decent ratings. We’ll see if that holds up now that everyone knows when the show is coming on the air.
