‘The Walking Dead’ season 5: Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reedus, cast solidify Comic-Con panel
There was never any doubt that “The Walking Dead” would return to San Diego Comic-Con this year. This is one of the shows that is absolutely perfect for the convention, in addition to being beloved by fans and a huge ticket draw.
The only question, at least until now, has been when the panel was going to take place. You knew that the show would get the massive Hall H for its panel, given it has in the past. We can now confirm that the “Walking Dead” panel will be held on Friday, July 25 from 12:20-1:20 p.m. Pacific time. The folks in attendance will be stars Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reedus, Steven Yeun, Lauren Cohan, Danai Gurira, Melissa McBride, Chad Coleman, Michael Cudlitz, executive producer / showrunner Scott Gimple, executive producers Gale Anne Hurd, Robert Kirkman, David Alpert, and special effects make-up supervisor Greg Nicotero.
We know that there are probably a few more people that you wish were a part of the panel, mostly because this show has that massive of a cast. Chandler Riggs is a name in particular that comes to mind, especially since he has been to many other conventions. Still, it’s great to see that Cudlitz will be coming along, and that Lincoln, Reedus, Cohan, and many other prominent people will be there alongside the comic genius that is Kirkman. At this point, he is probably the closest thing that the world of Comic-Con has to a bona fide rock star.
So what will happen at the panel? Obviously, discussion of season 5 will be extensive throughout, as will also be some fun questions and answers. Hopefully, there will also be some sort of new sneak peek shown off, given that this is something that has been done many times in the past. Plus, we feel like those who waited / sat around in Hall H for the panel all day really deserve some sort of reward.
