‘The Last Ship’ episode 4 preview: First look at ‘We’ll Get There’

The Last Ship -The Last Ship” is starting to slowly build up steam, and for those worried about the characters’ development, hopefully some of those fears have started to diminish over time.

Unfortunately, next week’s “We’ll Get There” is going to contain more trouble for Chandler in the crew when there are some troubles within the ship. This is at least a little bit different than external factors beating down upon them, but it’s still not ideal. Typically when there are problems with systems aboard the ship, you can get help from elsewhere. That’s not exactly the case this time around.

Also, there are not many occasions where almost the fate of the entire human race depends on one ship and the ability for their research on a virus to stay secure. For specific details, just take a look at the official TNT synopsis below:

“Days after a trying series of events at Gitmo, Chandler and his crew are put under extreme duress when the ship’s propulsion system suffers a catastrophic event. With Dr. Scott in danger of losing all her research on the virus and a crew overworked, overtired and desperately low on drinking water, Chandler’s leadership and ingenuity are put to the test.”

But where does a story like this go from here? The biggest mystery to us that this episode faces is whether or not the show will be able to build on something like this. On paper, it feels almost like a standalone episode where there is a problem aboard a ship, the problem is solved, and the characters move on to something else. Hopefully, this is a situation where, to borrow from another Michael Bay production, there is more here than meets the eye.
