‘Big Brother 16’ review: Did you know Devin had a daughter?

Devin -Typically when you see someone made out on TV to be a ridiculous, over-the-top character, it’s easy to sit at home thinking that they are probably edited that way. When it comes to Devin on “Big Brother 16,” we can promise you one simple thing: There is no fancy trick being done here with the edit at all. This guy is genuinely this insane when it comes to his gameplay.

It’s hard to even keep track of everything he did in this episode, in between apologizing to Donny via a house meeting, going after Brittany, convincing Nicole and Hayden that they are the two sweetest people of all time, and then asking Paola if she will throw the Battle of the Block so that Brittany could go home after the Power of Veto.

Also, Devin mentioned about two billion times in here that he has a daughter. Seriously, enough! We knew going into this that Paola and Brittany were the ultimate nominees and that Amber was dethroned as Head of Household, so there was a part of us that hoped to see something more than just Devin being a madman.

As for some other funny parts of this episode…

Hayden / Nicole – These two are just precious, aren’t they? We like this sort of “showmance” more than the one with a ton of PDA. They are a little more reminiscent now of Jeff and Jordan, or maybe even Dani Donato and Dominic (though these two never did anything that romantic in the house).

Zach / Frankie – At least we finally learned this week that Zach is straight, and most of his behavior with Frankie is just for fun and so that he has a close attachment to someone. Also, he really likes to be around gay people. Zach’s an interesting guy, but at least Frankie knows that he is not genuinely interested in him and there aren’t any romantic feelings being passed around.

The Battle of the Block was at least reasonably funny thanks to the various punishments, but a memory game based on photos? This was a little weak, but it didn’t take away too much from the rest of the hour. Grade: B.
