Sherri Shepherd leaving ‘The View’; what about Jenny McCarthy?
Is “The View” getting set to completely clean house? This is definitely something that will be discussed leading up to a special appearance from Barbara Walters on Friday morning.
What we can at least tell you for the time being is that Sherri Shepherd is going to be officially out of the picture moving forward. Rather than wait for someone else to make the announcement, Sherri herself released a statement saying that after being a part of the show for seven years, she is saying goodbye:
“It’s been seven wonderful years on The View and after careful consideration it is time for me to move on. I am extremely grateful to Barbara Walters and Bill Gedde for giving me the opportunity. I look forward to the business opportunities that lay ahead for me and I am incredibly grateful to my View family and my fans for supporting me on this journey.”
Now, we have to ask another big question: What about Jenny McCarthy? TMZ claims that Jenny is most likely out after a year that was marred with chemistry problems; not only that, but they also say that executive producer Bill Geddie may also be gone by the time the dust clears. We wonder if with the retirement of Walters if ABC wants to completely revamp the show, and inject some new energy into it in order to get people excited about a show that once made headlines. They claim that Ross Mathews and Jesse Palmer are both contenders to join the show, which would give them a permanent male presence after so many years without one.
