MTV’s ‘Awkward’ season 4, episode 10 & 11 review: Sadie and Jenna vs. Eva

Awkward -Tonight’s episode of “Awkward” posed one important question: Who is Eva, really? We know that she is a villain, but her reputation as a liar is what really got everyone going in this episode.

Here is what we officially learned throughout this episode: Eva was a young girl from San Pedro who faked her name, and much of her past in order to get ahead. She is a master of manipulation, so it’s not a surprise that even after some of the truth came out, she still tried to weasel her way out of almost everything. She claimed that she was pregnant in a last-ditch effort to keep Matty around, and we felt like the odds of this being true were about 0.0001%.

There were casualties, though, of Jenna and Sadie spending so much time teaming up to stop Eva, and that included the end of her relationship with Luke. This was not the ending to Jenna’s story you would have wanted or hoped for. It turns out that this 0.0001% chance was all it took seemingly, since Eva seemingly proved she was pregnant and Matty was forced to stand by her. We don’t think that he is that happy about it anymore, but he’s backed against a corner and he doesn’t want his own child to be adopted like he was.

As for the other thing about this episode that really shocked us, who knew that Lissa would start to be like Debra Morgan with having feelings for her sort-of-brother? There’s no blood tie there, so it’s not completely taboo; but, that’s definitely something that will cause some discomfort if the truth comes out.

Overall, there were predictable moments throughout the hour, but we will say that it was far and away a better one than what we’ve had the past few weeks. Grade: B+.
