‘Doctor Who’ season 8: Peter Capaldi, Jenna Coleman to be sent on massive world tour
Just in case you were wondering just how enormous of a time commitment being the stars of “Doctor Who” truly is, this should give you a sort of idea. Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman are going to go on a publicity tour like no other, and one that is reminiscent in a way of that big seven-continent tour that Rihanna went on recently.
From August 7 through the 19th, Capaldi (who is the 12th Doctor) and Coleman (who is the latest companion in Clara Oswald) will be visiting the UK, London, South Korea, Australia, the United States, Mexico, and Brazil. That is a whopping five continents in less than two weeks, so we imagine some jet-lag and exhaustion kicking in. While we are sure that there are downsides for the actors trying to go through something like this, there are also some pretty distinct positives. For example, this is the opportunity to do something that you would probably have a hard time doing otherwise, especially when it comes with an opportunity to see so many different fans from all around the world.
The new season of “Doctor Who” is going to premiere around this time in August, and the show has been hard at work filming new episodes for much of the year so far in Cardiff, Wales and surrounding areas. One of the big appeals of Capaldi in this role is that he is a longtime fan of the series, and will be able to bring some of this energy and passion to the part.
Excited to see this tour happen, even if you imagine it’ll be exhausting for the actors involved? Share below, and head over here to get some more news related to the show. Also, you can sign up now to get more TV updates via our CarterMatt Newsletter.

It’s funny. I’ve seen more promotion for Guardians of the Galaxy than I have for Doctor WHO. I know it is starting in August but haven’t seen a date yet. You would think with less than two months til it premiers they would be promoting it more. I think the BBC dropped the ball by not having this season start shortly after the Christmas special. I am looking forward to the new season because no offense to the new Whovians who loved Matt, he just didn’t seem right, to me, as the Doctor. He had moments but they were fleeting. I wish them the best of luck with the World Tour but not excited about it because I know they won’t be coming to my neck of the woods in the U.S.. Also, why they don’t do some episodes with the previous Doctors in between Capaldi’s seasons is beyond me. The mini-episode with Paul McGann should have shown them their is interest.
