‘The Mentalist’ season 7 spoilers: Work begins on the future
Are Jane and Lisbon going to be together? What does that kiss at the end of “Blue Bird” mean for their job? We know that these are just two questions that “The Mentalist” has set up for itself going into the seventh season.
Even though the show doesn’t have a premiere date just yet, we can at least still confirm one thing: The writers are already back at work. Writer / producer Jordan Harper recently confirmed on Twitter that this part of the process has begun. So what does this potentially mean for the rest of production? We imagine that the show is going to try and have some sort of normal schedule, since it’s better to just get the episodes filmed in advance then try to work around whenever CBS decides to put them on the air. We imagine that this is going to come right around midseason, since that gives the show the opportunity to air 13 episodes in a row without taking too many weeks off in between. Any other way that you do that runs the risk of long, annoying hiatuses.
Obviously, the Jane / Lisbon dynamic is something that has the interest of almost everyone piqued, but we still feel like there is much more to tell beyond that. For example, why not introduce a new villain, or tell a longer story? With only 13 episodes this season, there is an opportunity to be perhaps a little less procedural than you have been in the past.
Of course, we will provide more news and updates on the future of “The Mentalist” as soon as they are available.

I hope to see 22 episodes. I hope big time that Patrick and Teresa are very much together, very happy, and we don’t even see Pike again. I hope Patrick and Teresa solve cases together like they used to. I hope Patrick showers Teresa with love and attention. Ofcourse like all couples they will have little issues but it will be cute to see them figure it all out. I hope to see them kiss again. I hope to see and hear them say “I love you” to each other. I would love to see them get married before season 7 ends and I really really hope Wayne and Grace Rigsby are in attendance with Cho!!!! The five of them together would be a great final scene of season 7. Although it would be great if they brought in a love interest for Cho and she could be there in the next to the last scene. Love this show, so glad CBS renewed it, just wish it was for a full season.

My guess is lisbon dies because of the guy she was with before jane kills her then he turns into a serial killer and jane once again vowes to kill him

With only thirteen episodes, they should just blaze ahead and allow viewers to assume their own “head canon” specifics on the Jane/Lisbon romance. Let’s say it’s under way, already in process; and then they focus on standalone episodes – since in all likelihood this will be the final season.

I think CBS is just too cheap to keep paying for the show unless it has 20 million viewers per episode…… The one thing I think would bring the show back to its former high is Simon Baker himself and this will probably make a lot people angry. But if Simon Baker looked even 10 years younger, that show would leave all the others in the dust. The makeup and hair people that do the show should think about that….
