ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 7: Stana Katic joins Emilia Clarke, Emily VanCamp with Maxim honor
With “Castle” currently off the air until September, there are not many opportunities (especially right now) to discuss what is going to be coming up on the show. How can you when there is not anything being written?
So what we’ll lead off with today is that Stana Katic has a different honor today to celebrate, and that is being voted #50 onto the Maxim Hot 100 list! We understand that there are many out there who will say that it’s hard to gauge the impact of an award that is so superficially-based, but the reason this should be viewed as a reason to celebrate regardless of your opinion of a magazine featuring scantily-clad women is that this honor was voted on by fans. Think of this as yet another prestigious fan honor that should be celebrated accordingly like her People’s Choice Award.
For those of you who are curious, we’ve also compiled a list of some of the other familiar TV names that made it into the top 100 this year. (You can see the full list at this link.)

- Laura Vandervoot (“Bitten”) – #17
- Brooklyn Decker (“Friends with Better Lives”) – #16
- Zooey Deschanel (“New Girl”) – #6
To us, the biggest surprises on here are Vandervoot being ranked so high (not a statement on her attractiveness, rather her fan base size compared to other people), and Deschanel being the highest-ranked TV star, given that so many tend to either love or hate her.
For those curious, model Candice Swanepoel was #1 on the list, and the majority of the top 10 were not TV names for the first time in a while.
