ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 7: Nathan Fillion officially signed; plus, reaction to Castle twist
Monday night, “Castle” delivered what was a pretty polarizing finale, to say the least. Going into the episode, you probably had the feeling that there was actually going to be some sort of wedding between Castle and Beckett … right? Well, you were probably shocked to learn what happened instead, when we saw Castle in a very compromising situation.
Is he really going to die? Probably not, mostly because his name is in the title of the show. That is where the difficult part of this comes from, mostly in that it’s hard to get that excited about a cliffhanger that you know has no real tragic ending behind it. Instead, it feels more like you are just being taken on a ride that is going to get you right back where you started.
Speaking to TVLine, the first thing show creator Andrew W. Marlowe has to say on the subject of having a controversial ending is that he seems to expect it; also, there is no reason to think that this is a reason to write Nathan Fillion out of the show, given that he is a series regular under contract for another season.
As for where this story is going to lead, all Marlowe would say for certain is the following:
“I’ll say that we have a lot of interesting folks out there, and those are the questions we hope people are asking. We have some interesting answers when they come back. Or, at least, more interesting questions.”
So let’s hope that we get some more answers in regards to this soon, but until that point, we’ll just have to wait and see what the show has up its sleeve.
