‘Arrow’ season 2, episode 22 preview: Laurel learns to fire away

For most of the past several days, the internet has freaked out with strong opinions over the attached “Arrow” photo here, which shows Katie Cassidy’s character of Laurel Lance with none other than a certain bow in her hand.

So what does it mean? Well clearly, she is preparing to fire it, but it may not be what you think. As the new sneak-peek video shows, we are not looking here at a situation where she is confidently firing away. Rather Laurel is hesitantly being advised by Oliver Queen as to the best way to use the bow, and has a mission with it that is very critical to the survival of everyone. Unfortunately, sheis not someone who is particularly well-equipped when it comes to archery gear.

For quite a long time, we have felt like the show has been slowly and surely ushering us towards Laurel having a deeper role with Oliver and company (outdated Disney references for the win!), and now that has come to fruition. While there may not be a ton of information out there regarding whether or not she will someday become the Black Canary, it at least now feels like this is something that could happen, rather than just something that feels a little bit more like a pipe dream than anything else.

Hopefully, we’ll have some more information revealed about this during the episode. If not, then we’ll just hope for a good time to be had by all.
