NBC’s ‘The Voice’: Adam Levine shows off new look before Monday’s show

Who knew that Adam Levine was going to get such an extreme hair makeover halfway through this season of “The Voice“? In a move that is probably going to shock quite a few people, the Maroon 5 rocker has decided to bleach his chair, and is going to show up on Monday’s episode presumably looking like a completely different person.

Adam confirmed the news in a post on Twitter this weekend, where there indisputable photographic proof of the turnaround. (The woman pictured is Adam’s fiancee Behati Prinsloo.) We’re still in the profess of trying to figure out just what we think about this. He looks like a very different person! Also, he looks sort of like a villain in an anime.

Who knows? Maybe this gets him more publicity, and in turns gets his team members more publicity (though that feels like a little bit of a stretch now that we really think about it). The thing that Adam is most likely to get is ridicule, especially from Blake Shelton, who already likes to mock the other coaches for just about everything despite basically wearing the same outfit every week since the very beginning of the series.

Typically, it’s rare to see a star of this show undergo any sort of physical change during the show, mostly for the purposes of continuity. That is why ou see all of the coaches on the show wearing the same outfits through all of the blind auditions, that way they can be edited in whatever way the producers want for them. The only other big exception is of course when Shakira had her baby last year in between the Battle Rounds and the live shows. This is one of the reasons why last year’s season started so late.
