‘The Good Wife’ season 5 spoilers: Is the election storyline over?
Earlier this season on “The Good Wife,” there was a story that really dominated when it came to the election fraud, and whether or not anything was going to happen to Peter as a result of that. However, there was a wrench that was thrown into the system when we saw Will’s shocking death. While it was devastating, this moment did end up aiding Chris Noth’s character in the short-term.
But are things really going to stay that way forever? We sincerely doubt it, based mostly on what executive producer Robert King told TVLine in a new interview on this subject:
“Never say never, but at least for this season, Will’s [death] got Peter off the hook, which is playing into some of Alicia’s angst about Peter. But that doesn’t mean [it won’t] come back, because things tend to — especially for the Governor of Illinois.”
For the time being, Alicia’s own life is going to remain the focus of things, as you see how she wants to move on professionally following what happened. It’s been a steady process for her to try to get back to the Alicia of old, and she still has quite a bit of work to do in order to fully get there. Unfortunately for us viewers of the show, there are only a few episodes left to see what happens.
At least there is some time to plan things out, given that “The Good Wife” was already renewed for a sixth season, and new episodes will start airing in the fall.
