‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 10 spoilers: Caterina Scorsone on Amelia’s tough decision
Can you start to get accustomed to seeing more of Amelia in Seattle? Caterina Scorsone is on “Grey’s Anatomy” right now for a multiple-episode arc, but the most interesting thing about it to us is that there has yet to be any real indication that this arc has an end to it.
Think about it: Sandra Oh is leaving the show. So is Tessa Ferrer and Gaius Charles. There is definitely room for someone like Scorsone to come on the show. She’s a great spiritual successor to Cristina in that she is someone who can be close to Meredith, has an preexisting relationship with Derek, and is even familiar and well-liked by most fans. While no one will ever be Cristina, it a much better idea than trying to bring in a new character and have him or her be forced to deal with the 500-ton weight of following up one of the greatest characters of the past decade.
Scorsone is of course not saying anything one way or the other right now in regards to her future on the show, though she did tease to TV Guide that the coming episodes will show her plenty of reasons to stay in Seattle rather than heading back to where her life currently is located:
“She’s really realizing the value of having her family around … She’s definitely thinking about the pros and cons of living so far away in Los Angeles.”
There is also one other thing to consider here, and that is the possibility that more “Private Practice” characters show up at some point. Kate Walsh has already said that she would return, and we imagine that many others would, as well.
