‘Once Upon a Time’ season 3 spoilers: First photos of Dorothy in ‘Kansas’

Sunday night, Dorothy is going to realize that she’s not in Kansas anymore … instead, she is in the world of “Once Upon a Time.”

You’re going to get a first look at the character on Sunday night’s new episode (you can read more about the actress here), as she arrives seemingly in Oz for the first time. The attached photo is further proof of that. Is there anything else that we can take from this? Other than that the show’s interpretation of the “Wizard of Oz” heroine is pretty straightforward, the lack of green skin on Zelena certainly raises questions in regards to the timeline. Presumably, this must be prior to her starting to really work with Rumpelstiltskin, given that she and Glinda the Good Witch have a larger history that has not quite been revealed just yet.

Whatever happens here, we are getting near the end of the story. There are only a small sampling of new episodes beyond this one, and with that, we’re talking about the two-part finale that airs a week from Sunday. These two episodes will function as a move in a way. Not only that, but they have the challenge of setting the stage for an exciting season 4. This isn’t like last season, where you started to get the sense around this time that the show would be heading off to Neverland for a an arc. It’s possible that we could have an arc set in Oz next fall, but it’s hard to tell what sort of story could be worth telling there. Instead, we feel like it’s more likely that all will stay in Storybrooke, and there will be a different story that builds from there.
