‘Law & Order: SVU’ season 15 spoilers: B.D. Wong stages comeback

Law & Order: SVU logoAre you ready to see a familiar face return to the “Law & Order: SVU” world? B.D. Wong was a part of the show’s main cast for many years, and we’re pleased to report that he is back … even for just a one-episode appearance.

In news that was first reported by TV Guide, Wong will reprise his popular role of George Huang for the penultimate episode of season 15, where he will provide his skills as a psychiatric consult to help on a trial of a man accused of having done (as you would expect) terrible things. What he ends up finding is something that may actually surprise many members of the Special Victims Unit.

While Wong has returned to the show many times even since leaving it as a regular, this is still a welcome return when you consider the multiple makeovers of the past few years. This year in particular has seen the exits of Richard Belzer and Dann Florek, and Wong joins Donal Logue as a returning face to the show to help close out season 15.

There is also another interesting wrinkle to this guest-casting at the moment; given that the show has not been renewed officially yet for a 16th season, it will help to give a sense of closure if for some reason we don’t get more of the series again in the future. While the ratings would look in theory to be good enough for it to return, remember here that it is a show that is not exactly cheap to make thanks to it being on the air for such a long period of time.
