‘Shark Tank’ preview: Lord Nut Levington, Hold Your Haunches, and a CordaRoys update
Did you know that there is a new “Shark Tank” episode on Thursday night? If not, we don’t blame you. It’s not like ABC has done a tremendous job promoting this, and we still have no idea what they are thinking with the move. We get it that you want to find something that actually works Thursday nights at 8:00 p.m., but you’ve actually found a Friday show that’s a hit! That’s like a company coming into the Tank that everyone wants to actually invest in.
Tonight’s new episode is going to feature all sorts of craziness from the sharks, and the preview video below suggests that it’s going to become a “Battle of the Sexes.” (That’s probably a little more dramatic than you can expect it to be.)
In the synopsis below, you can take a look at some of the general events that are set to unfold:
“It begins as a typical fast-paced episode of America’s favorite Friday night viewing, but by the end of the hour, it’s a take-no-prisoners battle of the men versus the women—who will prevail with a deal? Barbara Corcoran and Lori Greiner team up to battle it out against Robert Herjavec, Mark Cuban and Kevin O’Leary over a particularly enticing product. An entrepreneur from Louisville, KY has whimsical plush slippers he claims feels like pillows on your feet; inventors from Sacramento, CA show off their dynamic signage for business owners who don’t want to hire human sign holders; two women from Macon, GA have created trousers and leggings that give instant, built-in uplift to one’s derriere; a Dallas-based foodie wants to make his mark with his boldly-flavored line of nuts for snacking, and an update on CordaRoys, a line of beanbag furniture that has skyrocketed in sales since Lori Greiner invested last season.”
We believe that the product the sharks will be fighting on will be Hold Your Haunches, mostly because that is the only one of these products that really could become the subject of whether or not men or women are better at selling it. The entire purpose of this product is to be successful in the women’s shapewear field … and we have completely no knowledge as to whether or not it will be.
What we are most interested in from a consumer perspective is Lord Nut Levington, a pretty fun brand of flavorful peanuts. As a foodie we’ve made no secret of our love for these sort of ideas, and the packaging looks really clever and fun. We like brands that really try to create something versus piggybacking on other ideas, and these completely put to waste anything that you traditionally see on an airplane.
We’ll be back tonight with a full review of this episode. For now, be sure to share your predictions on what you’d like to see below, and click here to view other highlights from this season. Also, sign up to get further TV updates via our CarterMatt Newsletter.
