‘Game of Thrones’ season 4, episode 2 preview: Joffrey, Margaery, and ‘The Lion and the Rose’

Joffrey -After a crazy premiere in “Two Swords,” “Game of Thrones” is set to really get the story of season 4 going next week with an episode entitled “The Lion and the Rose.” What’s the significance of this title alone? The Lannisters are the Lions, whereas the symbol for House Tyrell is the rose.

Clearly, this is going to be a story that puts these two families first and foremost as we get closer and closer to the Royal Wedding. Also during this episode, you will get an opportunity to see Ramsay Snow for the first time (presumably with Reek), while Bran also makes his debut.

Want to know more? Then just take a look at the full synopsis below:

“Tyrion lends Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) a hand. Joffrey (Jack Gleeson) and Margaery (Natalie Dormer) host a breakfast. At Dragonstone, Stannis (Stephen Dillane) loses patience with Davos (Liam Cunningham). Ramsay (Iwan Rheon) finds a purpose for his pet. North of the Wall, Bran (Isaac Hempstead Wright) sees where they must go.”

The promo that aired after the episode Sunday (read our review here) also featured Tyrion questioning some of Tywin’s threats, a silhouette of a dragon, and all sorts of goodness at King’s Landing with the Lannisters and the Tyrells in general. There are huge events coming in this city, and anyone who has read the George R.R. Martin series knows full well that there is plenty to look forward to here … and we couldn’t be more engaged in seeing where the story goes from here. (Plus, we’re very fascinated by the story of Ramsey and Reek, given how there is almost no footage of it at all out there.)
