ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 3, episode 17 preview: Kerry Washington, cast vs. ‘Flesh and Blood’

“Scandal” is starting to near the end of its third season, and when you look at things for the show historically, this mainly means one thing: Insanity, and a lot of it. This brings us directly to the story of “Flesh and Blood,” which is going to follow up all the reveals this week. Mellie is trying to be a wife, and the entire Grant family is trying to keep it together … but can Olivia really keep her own life together long enough to help?

As the synopsis below teases, the situation for Kerry Washington’s character and her mother is going to become somehow even more toxic. To make matters worse, Fitz is also considering going his own way:

“A security breach calls for an all hands on deck situation at OPA. Fitz’s re-election campaign becomes stalled and he considers going against Olivia’s advice. Meanwhile, Adnan and Maya continue to plot their next move.”

The promo below gives you so much more insight into what the plans for Mama Pope really were with that bomb, and they’re not good: She wants to destroy the President of the United States with it. We see this episode being all about a frantic race against time for Olivia and the Gladiators to figure out where this is and how to dispose of it before anyone gets hurt. This is no easy task, especially considering that this is also in a crowded room full of people.
