TV Quick Hits: ‘Hannibal’ season 2 news, ‘Girl Meets World’ art, Wil Wheaton show and more
“Hannibal” news aplenty – We’ll start this edition of TV Quick Hits with the latest good news related to “Hannibal,” and confirmation about a really important scene that you saw during the season premiere in that Hannibal / Jack fight. When are we going to see that play out in full? As suspected, it’ll be in the finale. Executive producer Bryan Fuller confirmed as such in a new interview with TVLine.
Also worth noting is that this weekend we are starting up our CarterMatt podcast with Jason Prager on the show, which will be continuing every week until we reach the end of the season. So if there’s anything that you ever want to see discussed on the show, share in the comments below!
“Girl Meets World” cast photo – We’re not quite sure that there has ever been as much hype around a Disney Channel show as there is “Girl Meets World. You can see the full cast in the brand-new photo attached here, with the young woman at the center of it being Riley Matthews (Rowan Blanchard), the daughter of Corey and Topanga and the focal point of the entire series.
This show will premiere at some point this summer, and has the challenge of trying to capture the magic of what made “Boy Meets World” a classic show, while at the same time establishing its own flair for the modern Disney audience. Being on cable, while a questionably decision at first, may actually help the show at first to have a longer shelf life.

“The Wil Wheaton Project” – Love Wil? How can you now? You’re going to be thrilled to know that Syfy has greenlit a genre / pop-culture show starring the former “Star Trek: The Next Generation” to premiere on Tuesday, May 27 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern. Syfy has not been a network to really dabble much in the talk-show trend, but Wil is not an ordinary host, and this will not be an ordinary show. It’s basically a lighthearted way to get the genre news of the week with commentary attached.
“Good Morning America” rumors – The New York Daily News is proclaiming that the ABC morning show is considering adding a third hour to rival “Today” more than they currently are. However, ABC has currently denied this rumor. We wouldn’t be shocked if it happens, given that “GMA” has become a significant ratings warrior as of late.
