‘Teen Wolf’ season 3 reaction: Crystal Reed explains difficult decision, aspirations

Teen Wolf -For some of you out there on Twitter who are freaking out and saying all sorts of terrible things about “Teen Wolf” creator Jeff Davis following tonight’s episode, know this: It was not his decision at all to have the story tonight end in the way that it did. (Spoiler alert!) If he had it his way, we would probably still have Allison alive and as a part of the cast.

So why in the world was she killed off then? The matter all comes down to Crystal Reed, who simply wanted to move on from the show after three seasons and do some other things with her career. Speaking about the episode to Entertainment Weekly, the actress explained the reasons in-depth about why she felt now was the time to move on:

“I love the art. And I felt like, creatively, there were things I wanted to do differently, and I wanted to explore other avenues of film and TV. I wanted to jump into different characters. You know, I’m 29. So I think the age difference was something I wanted to change as well because she’s 17. I love the show so much. So I went to Jeff and talked about it and he said, ‘We’ll write you a great ending.'”

Reed added that she first spoke to her team early on in season 3 about her interest in doing some other things and leaving the show, and this eventually led to a conversation with Davis about it. She thanked both him and the cast in the interview, saying that the show really had no obligation to let her out of her contract and go.

Of course, we understand that there will still be fans with hurt feelings, but the show will go on, and we’re sure that Scott and Isaac both will find a way to honor her. For now, just click here if you want to watch the first preview for next week’s season finale; also, sign up now to get some more updates from us via our CarterMatt Newsletter.
