‘Doctor Who’ season 8 spoilers: Keeley Hawes set to play important role
“Doctor Who” season 8 is set to bring in another British TV favorite, and with that in mind, the show may be getting one of its first prominent villains.
Keeley Hawes (“Line of Duty”) has been confirmed to be appearing in one episode of the BBC favorite, and will play the part of Ms. Delphox, which is a pretty cool name. She is a powerful character from beyond this world, and is known for having a “dark secret.” She will specifically meet the Doctor (Peter Capaldi) and Clara (Jenna Coleman) on an unknown planet, and confrontations ensue.
One of the cool things about when “Doctor Who” announces a new casting is that there are statements that come in from most important parties involved. Let’s start off here with what the actress herself had to say:
“I am delighted to join Doctor Who and to be working with this incredible team. Ms Delphox is a great character and someone I’ve had a lot of fun playing.”
Meanwhile, we also had the following statement from executive producer Steven Moffat:
“Anyone watching Jed Mercurio’s amazing Line Of Duty will know that Keeley Hawes is having one hell of year. And now it’s about to get even better as she achieves the greatest villainy yet attempted on Doctor Who: she plays a banker.”
The new season does not have a premiere date just yet, but you can expect to see it at some point in the fall. Given that there has to be enough time for new episodes to air prior to the Christmas special (and thirteen of them, in fact), a September launch seems about right in our mind. Of course, we’ll have much more on that before that time.

Perhaps an “Ur-banker?” :)
A sequel to “The Sun Makers” would rock.
