‘American Idol XIII’ spoilers: Top 12 week will feature Phillip Phillips, ‘Home’ theme
This just in: The producers of “American Idol” really like Phillip Phillips. Not only that, but they want to seemingly remind you in about as many different ways as possible that the season 11 champion has a hit song entitled “Home.”
Phillip is going to be returning to the Fox juggernaut for the results show next week, where he will perform his new single “Raging Fire” on TV for the first time (We like to think that we more or less called this one.) But before that, the remaining twelve contestants are going to all perform songs themed around the concept of “Home.” That means that they could perform songs that were popular during their childhood that have a memory to them, or music from their home state. Either one of these labels firmly applies.
At least the producers do seem to be taking some sort of notice to what fans of the show are really hoping for. Namely, they’re hoping to see some sort of different themes that have not been on the show in the past. We view this mostly as a breath of fresh air, and an opportunity to really get to hear some exciting tunes that have not been beaten into the ground already by this show. We can’t tell you how many times that we’ve heard those, and we’d love to have something a little bit different for a change. Maybe this is getting us on the road to that happening the rest of the season (we sure hope so).
