‘American Idol XIII’ results: Was MK Nobilette, Malaya Watson, Kristen O’Connor eliminated?
The first major “American Idol” elimination happened at the end of Thursday night’s results show, and it was something that definitely could surprise on some levels.
One thing that we are not particularly stunned about? Finding out that the bottom three was all women. This really shouldn’t have been the way in which America voted, but this the way that they have shown to be … with the exception of last year. Now that the typical good-looking guys with guitars are back, so are the votes for them.
Out of the bottom three (MK Nobilette, Malaya Watson, and Kristen O’Connor), MK was the one that we were the most shocked by. What in the world happened there? There’s no way that she should have been in the bottom, which suggests to us mostly that she is having a hard time nailing down what that fan base should be. But, the lucky thing is that she’s still found a way to stick around in the competition. Kristen was the person to actually go home this week, and in the end, that was the conclusion that just about everyone expected at the end of the day. She’s a good singer, but she didn’t have enough screen time, and really didn’t do enough when it comes to standing out from the crowd.
Congratulations again to the judges for not really getting caught up in the hoopla of the performance, and for holding on to it for a little while longer. Hopefully, she’ll still feel like she got something great out of this experience, and will be able to move forward from it: Grade: C+.
