NBC’s ‘Community’ season 5 spoilers: The next Dungeons & Dragons tribute
The last time that “Community” had a Dungeons & Dragons episode, it was all the way back in season 2, and it produced one of the most epic stories of all time as Pierce Hawthrone took advantage of the opportunity to become the game’s version of Darth Vader and go on a path of complete destruction. To think, the whole purpose of the game was to make Fat Neil feel better about himself.
Now, it’s time to play the game all over again … but for a very different reason. You may have heard a few hints here and there in the past couples of months, but the tenth episode of the season is entitled “Advanced Advanced Dungeons & Dragons.” Want to know the specific story? Then just look at the synopsis below (via SpoilerTV):
“When Professor Hickey reveals that his estranged son (David Cross) has had a baby, the gang decides to help them reunite through a game of dungeons and dragons.”
Hooray for David Cross, and hooray also for an opportunity for an episode that gives us more of a chance to see what Jonathan Banks’ backstory is going to be. Given that we don’t know what his role is going to be next season thanks to “Better Call Saul,” we better take advantage of him while we can.
