TV quick hits: ‘Scandal’ season 3, ‘Ray Donovan,’ ‘Rookie Blue,’ and Kevin Hart news galore
Today’s edition of TV quick hits is more or less all about castings, and we’ll start here with a tiny little nugget from “Scandal” season 3 that is literally so small, it was impossible to create an entire article about it: According to SpoilerTV, Debra Cardona is going to play the part of Senator Lynda Torres. That is all we know about the role so far. There is not even much information out there yet about Cardona’s other acting roles.
We’ll have a lot more “Scandal” news soon, though, given that the spring premiere is now only six days away.
“Ray Donovan” – Showtime’s drama has been a quick hits favorite as of late, and we will now add this: Per The Hollywood Reporter, Kip Pardue (“Remember the Titans”) has signed on for the role of FBI agent Volchek in several episodes of the show. He will work under James Cochran, the Los Angeles FBI head played by Hank Azaria.
New “Rookie Blue” characters – Per the show’s Canadian network Global, Oliver Becker is going to play the role of John Jarvis, an inspector who ends up shaking things up around the division in a big way. Meanwhile, Matt Murray will play one of the new members of the force in Duncan Moore, who has the strange nickname of Selfie. He will be trained by Andy, who will be soon to encounter some problems with him.
Kevin Hart to appear in pilot – The red-hot comedian is going to recur in his ABC project “Keep It Together,” which is loosely based on his life, for multiple episodes if it gets picked up to series. What has us intrigued about this project especially is that it is being executive-produced by former Community EPs Neil Goldman and Garrett Donovan, who also were behind the great-but-canceled “Ben and Kate.” There is promise here!
