‘The X Factor’ UK: Dannii Minogue not rejoining Simon Cowell on judging panel in 2014
For those of you hoping that “The X Factor” would get down and decide to party like it was 2010 all over again, sad news: Dannii Minogue is going to ensure that there is not a full-on-reunion between herself, Simon Cowell, Cheryl Cole, and Louis Walsh.
Speaking at the red carpet of the BRIT Awards this week, Dannii confirmed the sad news about her staying away from the judging panel, saying that she is mostly enjoying watching her sister Kylie on the British version of “The Voice” and that she is not necessarily making it impossible for her to do the show in the future:
“Definitely not coming back to the X Factor UK this year… but never say never [in the future].”
If there does end up being an appearance from Cheryl on the show this year (which is not assured by any means), then that suddenly makes it appear as though the leading candidate to join her is none other than Olly Murs. The “Troublemaker” singer has been subject of rumors as of late, thanks both to his past on the show and also possible talk that Cole does not want to be subjected to some sort of sexist edit that makes it look like the women are always fighting with each other.
There is still plenty of time for a decision to be made on the future of the show, so don’t necessarily expect some sort of grand announcement on the future of the judging panel to come out immediately. Now that Simon is confirmed, we would not be surprised if it is late spring before the rest of the panel is finally confirmed. There always seems to be a waiting game while the press drags out rumors as long as possible.
