‘Once Upon a Time’ season 3 spoilers: Josh Dallas on what’s up with Neal

Charming -At the end of the “Once Upon a Time” midseason finale earlier this fall, there was one question that was left burning in our minds: Why in the world was Captain Hook the one to show up at Emma Swan’s door? While we know that he has feelings for her, wouldn’t it have been just as understandable if we had seen Snow White, Prince Charming, or someone like Neal show up?

Well, you probably have come to figure out that there was some sort of explanation for this move, and that is something that we are starting to find out a little bit more about. Speaking in a new interview with TVLine, Josh Dallas explained that when it comes to what Charming is up to, there seems to be a certain amount of reluctance for him to really try to drag their daughter into the mess that they are in when the show picks back up:

“When we get back to fairytale land, Neal is determined to go find Emma, but Charming and Snow just want their daughter to be happy. So they try to say, ‘Look, this is where we live now. This is what we have and that [other realm] is where she and Henry are. We have to let them go.’”

As for what we know about the new season right now, it is simply as follows: The new season is going to pick up a year or so after most of the events in the fall, and thanks to some mysterious circumstances (possibly related to the Wicked Witch), we are going to see many of the characters back in Storybrooke again. We assume that there will still be flashbacks, but they will be more to what happened to the characters upon return to their realm.

What do you think about what Dallas said about Neal? Do you think that there is any way that Neal would go along with some of these ideas?
