NBC’s ‘The Voice’ season 6: Shakira discusses album, mentoring, and more (video)
Are you ready to have “The Voice” back on the air? The hit NBC is going to be returning on February 24, and we’ve got a new preview video that focuses on one person and one person only: Shakira.
Obviously, the singer is known for her hits like “Hips Don’t Lie” and “She-Wolf” here in America, however she is probably the biggest international star out of anyone on the show, has a monstrous amount of followers on Twitter, and understands exactly how to appeal to her fans. One of the biggest reasons why? It’s because she controls almost everything about her career. The focus of this video is all about Shakira showing off why she is the perfect coach, and also giving you some specific examples as to how she controls everything from her music to her videos.
Is there something else that this video brings to the table? Yes, and it is information all about Shakira’s new album. Her self-titled disc is going to be coming out a month into the show on March 24, and you better believe that this is no coincidence. Expect there to be plenty of tie-ins along the way for this, and if she manages to also get Rihanna to stop by for a performance with her (given that they perform on the album together), it would be a huge victory for NBC. It’s not like they need the ratings help when it comes to this show, but we have little doubt that they will gladly take it with open arms.
Do you think Shakira could be a winning mentor on “The Voice,” and do you think that it’s time that a female coach finally walked away with the win for once? Share what you think below, and head over here if you want to see some other video highlights from the new season.
