‘Once Upon a Time’ season 3 spoilers: Meet Sunny Mabrey, perfectly-named Glinda

What's next? -While we are sure that Sunny Mabrey was not booked to play the part of Glinda the Good Witch on “Once Upon a Time” season 3 based on name alone, just how awesome is it that this happens to be her name? The lovers of crazy coincidences out there are probably smiling ear to ear over this once.

The news first came out Thursday via TVLine that Mabrey, whose credits include “Memphis Beat” as well as Lifetime’s “The Client List,” is set to play a very significant role in the story for the second half of this season, which revolves around Rebecca Mader as the Wicked Witch.

This version of Glinda is interesting, since there is a little bit of the original “Wizard of Oz” character in here, but also something new. What do we mean by that? Namely, that she is someone who is described as being overly careful and even a little bit of a loner; she’s been isolated for some time, and that is going to cause her to be very wary and cautious about anything and everything going on in the present.

When it comes to the Wicked Witch character, most of her past is still under wraps. As a matter of fact, the show’s producers have been hesitant to even give out a name. What’s the reason for that? It’s largely tied to the simple fact that they want to ensure that their version of the character is not tied together with any of the other witches that have existed over the years.

What do you think about the Good Witch casting, and it does it meet your own personal stamp of approval? As always, we want to hear some of your thoughts below!
