‘NCIS’ season 11: ‘Fast and the Furious’ star joins ‘New Orleans’ backdoor pilot
The upcoming two-part episode of “NCIS” season 11 focused on the potential “New Orleans” spin-off just seems to have checked off one of its final major characters.
After hearing that Scott Bakula, Zoe McLellan, and CCH Pounder were all going to be appearing in the new series, sources confirm that Lucas Black, best known for the “Fast and the Furious” franchise, is set to play the part of NCIS Special Agent Lasalle on the show. He is in some ways going to be the wild one of the cast, since he apparently has a reputation for partying. However, he also has a strong moral compass, and will do just about anything within his power to make sure that what is right ends up getting done at all costs.
The entire four-person cast of this show will appear during the upcoming episodes this season, and if executives like what they see, “NCIS: New Orleans” will be added to the schedule this fall under executive producers Gary Glasberg and Mark Harmon. While five years ago this probably would be a lock to air, we wouldn’t say that in 2014. There are so many other series out there with potential, and CBS may look for something that could potentially skew a little younger. (Then again, they won’t care if this show, like “NCIS,” draws around 20 million viewers a week … but that seems unlikely for a spin-off.)
