‘How I Met Your Mother’ season 9 spoilers: Whose son are we going to meet?

Ready to see a tiny “How I Met Your Mother” scoop on who we are set to meet next? Compared to some of the other details that we’ve shared recently, this one may feel a little more inconsequential; however, we have a feeling that this show especially tends to do just about everything for a reason.

According to a new report from E! News, we are going to be meeting soon the son of Carl, otherwise known as the bartender (and possibly the owner?) of MacLaren’s. This is a guy who has appeared in around a dozen and a half episodes of the show over the years, so really has a little bit more of an identity tied to the series than you may have even thought at first glance. Given that there are only so many episodes left, you would have to either hope or believe that his kid does have a role to play in the future … or at least this is what we are telling ourselves right now.

There are only really a handful or so stories left for the show to share, but make note that some of them are in fact going to take us back to the famous bar. Rumor has it that it will be featured once again in the series finale, even though most of the story so far has been actually set at the Farhampton Inn. The writers have not forgotten about this location, or the special place that it holds in the heart of many fans.
