‘The Originals’ spoilers: More on episode largely about Claire Holt’s Rebekah
We know that there is a reason for many fans of “The Originals” right now to feel rather sad. There are no new episodes for at least a little while! Thanks to the Olympics, the show is not going to grace The CW again until Tuesday, February 25, and it will be doing so with an episode entitled “Long Way Back from hell” that clearly suggests that there will be a whole heap of terrible things that happen.
For us, one of the most interesting things is going to be seeing a story that really revolves more around Rebekah than her two brothers, even if Klaus and Elijah still have their roles to play. She has at times felt like either second fiddle or an accessory to their plans, at least until 2014 started up with “The Casket Girls.” This year so far has been much more exciting for her so far, and the full synopsis for this episode suggests that this trend is most definitely going to continue:
“When Rebekah (Claire Holt) finds herself locked up in the sanatorium where she worked in 1919, she realizes a witch named Genevieve (guest star Elyse Levesque) is back to seek revenge and to reveal dark secrets that would destroy Rebekah if exposed. A distraught Elijah (Daniel Gillies) turns to Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) and Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) for help when one of his decisions puts Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and Rebekah’s lives in danger. With time working against them, Marcel realizes he may hold valuable information that could lead them to Rebekah and Klaus, but revealing it will almost certainly result in deadly consequences.”
Does this sound exciting to anyone else? Personally, we are more than interested in seeing some more of her past, especially since this involves two of our favorite things: Sanitariums, and flashbacks to earlier parts of the characters’ lives. This is like “American Horror Story: Coven,” but less confuses and without aliens! Hopefully, the story lives up to what we are seeing now on paper.
