ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 3: New poster all about a bottle and quotes

Here is something that is a little bit unusual for the traditionally-savvy publicity folk over at ABC: A poster for the return of “Scandal” that does not actually feature Kerry Washington.

Instead, what we have here is a bottle, decorated with a series of some of the show’s most-popular quotes and phrases. This works very well for those of you who feel like the show is known at this point for its writing just as much as it is its stars, and at least a good many of the characters drink … right? Really, the biggest problem that we have with this above all else is merely that the show really didn’t highlight its title here much at all. You can click on the image to expand it, but if you were just skimming pictures on the internet and saw this, you’d probably move on without giving it a second thought. It’s not like a bottle is akin to shredded paper, the quick camera flashes, the word “Gladiator,” or even the White House when you think of things that are commonly associated with the show.

“Scandal” will be back on ABC come Thursday, February 27, which is when it will also begin airing the first of its final eight episodes of the season. Why the long wait? The easy answer is that nobody wants to air their good stuff against the Olympics, and thanks to Washington’s pregnancy, the order for the season as a whole has been cut down a little bit.
