‘How I Met Your Mother’ season 9, episode 17 preview: Sarah Chalke, Ashley Williams return
Are you ready to see a bounty of “How I Met Your Mother” guest stars? Then you are going to particularly enjoy “Sunrise,” which is the new episode of the show airing next week. It is the 201st episode of the series, and also the first one presumably the morning of Barney and Robin’s wedding day.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t quite seem like the story here is going to revolve very much at all around the wedding. Instead, it may be all about featuring some of the women who were very involved in Ted’s life over the years. Ashley Williams, Sarah Chalke, and Abby Elliott are all poised to appear (presumably via flashbacks) over the course of this half-hour, and the official synopsis released by CBS does a good job of explaining the reason why:
“While out looking for an inebriated Barney on the day of the wedding, Robin and Ted reminisce about past relationships. Meanwhile, Marshall and Lily finally resolve their issues and Barney befriends two young guys eager to meet women.”
As for some other notable guest-stars who are appearing independently of this story, you can also expect to see an appearance from Bill Fagerbakke as Marshall’s late father, which has to either be a flashback or some sort of dream sequence. Also, there will be another cameo of Tim Gunn as himself, which we hope gives him a little bit more to do than the one that the last one that featured him earlier this season.
After the emotional “How Your Mother Met Me,” we still wonder whether or not there is any way this episode can live up to the standard.

i don’t really know why but i think the reason why a cried at the part of the last ep. where the mother sang, was because i felt the emotions….all the heartache, all the sadness….it was, for me….the best episode yet

I loved the last episode, and although I really just want to get to the wedding….deep down I don’t because that means the end to How I Met Your Mother once and for all. So I am all for some flashbacks and filler episodes

I completely agree! Infact I was about to post a comment saying just about exactly that, but then I saw your comment and thought… why bother? :)
