‘Supernatural’ season 9, episode 11 review: Mark Sheppard, Jensen Ackles do awesome things
There was some great stuff all across the board on Tuesday night’s “Supernatural” episode, with the most exciting part of it coming from a character we have never even seen before on the show: Cain. Tim Omundson (“Psych”) was the perfect choice for this, mostly in that he had all sorts of awesomeness at his disposal, and he never even had to try hard in order for it to rise to the surface.
As Dean and Crowley tried their absolute hardest to retrieve the blade from Cain, and therefore giving themselves the opportunity to actually destroy Abaddon. The problem there was that Cain was not exactly the most forthcoming person in the world. He instead put Dean to the test to ensure he was worthy before ultimately transferring a mark (and a burden?) to the Winchester brother. The good news here? That they are a step closer. (Also good news: Jensen Ackles and Mark Sheppard got to really show off their action chops.) As for the bad news, we know that the downside of Dean’s new mark is going to come soon enough.
As for the Sam story this week, he and Castiel worked in tandem to try to get the grace necessary to find Gadreel and take down Metatron. While this was infinitely important, it didn’t really have the action of the other plot. The best moment, at least for us, was seeing Cas go on and on about the many joys of peanut butter as a human … at least versus it as an angel.
The episode closed with the sight of Dean punching Crowley in the face, after he learned that the King of Hell had really been in the know the whole time about what Dean needed to do. This was a nice little twist to cap off a pretty great episode, mostly because it proved that Crowley was still Crowley, and not just a little sidekick catering to the Winchesters’ needs. (To be fair, though, he was probably right to withhold information.) Grade: A-.

I finally am excited about Supernatural again. I love that it appears again than Dean will have some significance in a story. Let us wait and see if this actually happens. I am still waiting for Sam to care about his brother. And stop being mad at Dean for caring too much. Maybe the tables will turn here, and if Sam is faced with losing Dean or saving him, what will he do?

I personally loved the episode. It was well played, extremely well planned, and Jensen did awesome. I was extremely bored with season 6 and 7, but I knew I simply couldn’t stop watching Supernatural. It’s a massive improvement in the show. Sam and Castiels role was slightly boring though, they didn’t talk much about anything. It was overall, very impressive. I’m just worried that they will kill Abbadon off like they do with all the massive villians, and than just switch to some other person. I want her to remain the bad one for a while! It will be kind of boring if they kill her off.

I loved all of the Dean, Crowley and Cain scenes. Great chemistry and great acting.
Jensen was awesome last night! He was great with the drama and the action, and, of course, all of Dean’s one-liners!
I see now why Tim Omundson tweeted about the epic fight and that Jensen was badass. It was a really well acted, choreographed and filmed scene.

It was great, though boo on another dead female hunter. Dean jumping in to accept a demonic mark without reading the fine print *sigh* never learn; Dean seems to be going on a dark path, without Sam by his side Dean looks feral and uber dangerous. Normally I’m indifferent to Cas scenes, but here I’m glad Cas made a gesture of apology to Sam, it was a long overdue so the Sam/Cas part was absolutely necessary. Also, I think Cas maybe lying and Sam still has angel grace in him.

Really excited about the prospect of Dean with the mark of Cain, and the fight scene reminded me of one of my favourites from season one in Benders. Now I just want to see Dean and Abaddon face off, but also conflicted because I don’t want her killed off. Writers – please please don’t drop this storyline or pass it off onto someone else, not again!

Loved the episode, but I thought Sam/Cas parts were little bit slow and maybe even boring? It was Cas: Sam, this will hurt, next scene was Cas: Sam, this will hurt even more. Dean, Crowley a Cain scenes were amazing, I really love the mytharc with Cain. Excited to see him again, and I’m hoping for more Dean/Crowley interaction.

Jensen Ackles was awesome as always. He just has the whole package. Great actor and gorgeous! Not fair! Tim Omundson was great too. I haven’t seen him in a serious role since Deadwood(don’t watch that much TV) and it was exciting watching him stretch his acting muscles. Fun episode.
